The Daendels’ Road (in Bekasi)!

           Daendels road construction from Anyer (Banten) to Panarukan (East Java) as far as 1000 km in the year 1809 to 1810. This road was built in the era of Herman Willem Daendels, Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies 36th. Aims to accelerate the arrival of the letters sent between Anyer to Panarukan or as a post road, built for the Dutch military defense at that time. Anyer-Panarukan road is also used to support the Dutch cultivation system (cultuur stelsel), who was then applied to the Dutch colonial. With the way this crop of Priangan more easily delivered to the port in Cirebon brought into the country for the next windmill. This road also shorten travel time by road from Surabaya to Batavia previously taken 40 days could be shortened to seven hari.Pembangunan this road is Daendels monumental project, but must be paid to the many violations of human rights because it is done by force without reward or peonage.
